Give You God Desire

Oct 16, 2019 | Evangelism

Galatians 5:17 NLT
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

This podcast is a repost, originally published on June 1, 2017.

Scriptures have power to create stuff out of nothing, create love and desire for God.Holy Spirit is the one who does that.

We cannot be saved except by the presence and power of Holy Spirit. He convicted us of our sins.He revealed Jesus to us.He makes us holy.He is the ultimate goal of getting saved, because of him the blood of Jesus washes our sins.

There are two different desires and cravings. One is the craving of sinful nature, one is the craving of the spirit.

The job description of the spirit also includes giving you desires that are from God, desires of God, desires that are contrary to sinful nature , desires that are contrary to natural human tendency, desires that are exclusive to the heart of God, desires that are supposed to be God’s desires.

The reason so many times we are torn between the two is because we value the advice and the desire of the flesh of our sinful nature more than the advice and the desire and the input from the Holy Spirit.

The goal is we become more and more increasingly aware of the role and presence of Holy spirit in our salvation.

We cannot be saved if we don’t have desire for God. One of the crazy things that the Holy Spirit does in our life is suddenly out of nowhere when we are born again we began to desire for God.

Craving in our heart the love in our heart, the desire in our heart is put in there by the Holy Spirit.

If we don’t have desire for God,we need to invite Holy Spirit. It’s not enough that we be Holy it’s not enough that we be convicted of our sin, it’s not enough that we have feeling of being filled by the Holy Spirit, its also necessary that we have deep craving and deep love for God, that is the mark of person truly saved by the biblical standards.

Just as newborn baby desires for food we need to have desire/appetite for God and that person who teaches us to have appetite for God is Holy Spirit.

Our sinful nature doesn’t want Us to pray, does not want us to speak in tongues, does not want to walk with God, does not want us to be in church this weekend, does not want you to obey the elders, does not want you to do anything that God has spoken about in the word.

Holy Spirit is not boss.He brings a desire for God,the lifestyle that he has prepared for us and everything that comes along with us.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
