He is Immanuel
Isaiah 8:10 NLT
“Call your councils of war, but they will be worthless. Develop your strategies, but they will not succeed. For God is with us!”

Today’s scripture portion is from Isaiah 8:10 – “Call your councils of war, but they will be worthless. Develop your strategies, but they will not succeed. For God is with us!””
God is speaking through Isaiah to the enemy of Judah that all the people that come with them to make sure Judah is defeated, all the strategies that they develop will not succeed because God is with us.
The term God is with us was repeated in the New testament when Jesus was born and God was saying that here is the good news of what was prophesied by Isaiah that an Immanuel will come, and God will be with us and it was completely fulfilled through the birth of Jesus, through human incarnation of Jesus.
Jesus was existing through the Trinity from eternity. Jesus was the word of God. He was the second person in Trinity. All of sudden this Jesus who was high and lifted up became low, He became human being, frail, became susceptible to challenges, vulnerable, became one of us and that is the expression in this word that God is with us.
So often we think that God cannot relate to us because we think He is outside of this world. We think that God doesn’t understand our pain, struggles, temptations, fears and worries. But the reason we don’t have to be concerned about this is because Jesus came in the form of human being, He lived on this earth for 33.5 years and during this time He was absolutely vulnerable to the people around Him. He went through the same problems, temptations, struggles, challenges, trials that we go through today.
How did Jesus overcome them? If He can overcome, then we too can today. If we can be assured of the fact that God is with us then nothing can cause discouragement or fear. It’s not just God is for us or in us but He is also with us. If we believe God is with us then we will be protected, lead by Him and no enemy can touch us.
Can you put your trust completely on Him today?
If you have not ever believed Jesus as your Lord and saviour, this morning make that decision, invite Him into your heart by saying, “Lord Jesus I would like to make You my Lord and Saviour, my master and my God and my everything and I lay down my life at Your feet.”

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
