Witness of Character

Transcript:

The above verse is a testimony Boaz is speaking about Ruth.

Ruth was a Moabite woman who had just come into the city, who hadn’t lived in Bethlehem for too long and had just started serving her mother-in-law. Yet, there are people who have formed an opinion about her lifestyle and are testifying about her character. May our lives also have a testimony that will be spoken about us.

Jesus said ‘ the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will become MY witnesses ’. Which means we would represent His character, His heart and His love to all the people who haven’t seen Him.

Ruth had to upgrade, adopt and change her lifestyle to be able to bear such a witness. Being from a Moabite family, the customs and religious patterns of moabites were completely different from the Jews. So Ruth had to change and grow into Jewish ways. When Boaz looked at her, he saw a woman of worth and tremendous capacity.

We are not perfect human beings, but we must be willing to allow the Lord to amplify the sweetness of our character so we can witness to the personality of Jesus.
