Everything Fell Apart

“The men who knew that their wives had been burning sacrifices to the no-gods, joined by a large crowd of women, along with virtually everyone living in Pathros of Egypt, answered Jeremiah: “We’re having nothing to do with what you tell us is GOD’s Message. We’re going to go right on offering sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, keeping up the traditions set by our ancestors, our kings and government leaders in the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem in the good old days. We had a good life then – lots of food, rising standard of living, and no bad luck. But the moment we quit sacrificing to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out offerings to her, everything fell apart. We’ve had nothing but massacres and starvation ever since.””

This portion of scripture from Jeremiah is where people are saying to Jeremiah that as long as they were serving the queen of heaven, the gods of their ancestors everything was going well with them, the moment they stopped worshipping this god, everything fell apart.

These were the people who worshipped the queen for prosperity.

Many a times we end up worshipping prosperity or the blessing to such as extend that they become our god. And the moment it is taken out of our lives, our worship goes haywire.

This is a very dangerous place to be in because we do not base our life on God’s word.

The moment you stop worshipping your blessing, the blessings might stop showing up.

If you believe that Jesus is your ultimate blessing and your everything, you will see that the grace of God will come and help you in times of your weakness.

Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and in due time He will lift you up so that He can find glory in you.
