Fear of No Faith
Listen
Good morning & Greetings in Jesus name! Welcome to this new day. I hope you are ready to put your faith afresh in Jesus today, that you are ready to renew your belief, you are ready to revive your trust in God. It is very confusing for a believer to listen to something like that because you think that from the day I got saved, I do believe in Jesus and I never stop believing in Jesus and yet something happens when we are familiar with what God is speaking, what He has done for us over a period of time, we begin to take what God has done for us for granted and we stop using our heart and mind to actively stand on our faith in Christ. Then we begin to put our trust in ourselves, works, ability to obey God, to please God and that is where we fail.
You will see that this is the same mistake the nation of Israel made, when they began, they had a beautiful encounter with God in Mount Sinai, but over the ages, they began slacking and going back to their own old things, it is not like they stopped believing in God, but in their belief system, they started trusting in everybody else. In some seasons they trusted in their Kings, their works, even Idol and pagan rituals, that’s why the bible says that God took them out of their place.
Paul explains this as a warning in Romans 11:20 Yes, but remember—those branches were broken off because they didn’t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don’t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. 21 For if God did not spare the original branches, he won’t spare you either.
So we have to live in this reverential fear of what could happen if we lose our faith, if we take our faith for granted, if we stop and slack in our relationship with God, I am not saying your relationship has to be motivated by fear, but there has to be this concern in our minds at all times, that would stop you from becoming familiar with your relationship with God. And will stop you from taking for granted what God has done for you, for time and again, you need to go back into scriptures and meditate on what Jesus has accomplished for us through His life, His death, burial, resurrection, and continue to stand on this revelation, believe in it and continue to trust in what Jesus did for you to take you to the other side because the more we are constantly meditating on our abilities and inabilities, we are becoming self-obsessed and self-focus and we are thinking we can do these things, and we can do these things. We constantly think that we are unable to please God because of some things that will hinder us. We are now beginning to trust in our own ability, wisdom. On the outside, it might look humble, but in God’s eyes, that is a very proud confession of your dependency on yourself, when you come to Christ, you can no longer depend on your ability to live for the lord, you need to either trust him completely or get out and go back to trusting in yourself.
When you come to Christ, you can no longer depend on your abilities to live for the Lord. Share on XPaul is saying don’t you think for one moment that just because you got saved a long time back, that for the rest of your life, everything is going to be okay till you reach heaven, for if God did not spare the original branches, don’t you ever think he his going to spare you if you lose your faith if you stop trusting.
Let your faith be rooted in what Christ has done for you, don’t let it be surface-level faith that is based purely on your church doctrine and what you sing and have heard in church. Let your faith be truly rooted in what Jesus has done for you.
