It is Written

Good morning! Greetings my dear friends! Welcome to this amazing new morning! I believe that the Lord is working even when we are not aware of how he is working. His promises, faithfulness, his plans for us are all actively pursuing us even when we are oblivious to what God is doing. That is the whole beauty of God’s grace and provision for our lives.

The bible says in Isaiah 34:16 – “In the book of the Lord you can search and you can find where it is written. The Lord brought together all of his creatures by the power of his spirit, not one is missing”.

Such a beautiful and a prophetic statement that is made by the prophet Isaiah. He says “this is what you need to do”. There is a book of the Lord. What you need to do is, you have to search and find out where it is written. If it is not written, you cannot hold on to it. But, if it is written, if it is declared and spoken, then you have a basis, a legal ground to stand upon and believe for these things to happen in your life.

When Jesus was tempted, after the 40 days of fasting, the bible says that Jesus responded back to the enemy saying “it is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God”. Again, the enemy came to tempt him. Again Jesus replied, “it is written, you shall not test the Lord your God”. Again, the enemy came to tempt him and Jesus replied a third time “it is written that you shall not serve or worship anybody except God”.

All of these factors that Jesus mentioned, he could have just said “this is what I believe” but Jesus kept going back to telling the enemy “it is written so and so, and if it is written, then that becomes the legal ground on which I will stand, that will become the principle by which I live”.

So, Isaiah the prophet, is asking us to go and search the book of the Lord, to read it from cover to cover so that we can find where it is written. Once we find where it is written, once this becomes a revelation to us, once this becomes personal to us, it is something that will become our pursuit, the purpose of our life. It will begin to drive every decision we make, it will begin to give us clarity for what to speak, where to spend our money, clarity as to how to go about with our relationships, that is all going to be founded on when we discover what is already written in the book of the Lord; you can search, you can seek, find that it is written.

Isaiah goes on to quote the promise. He says that the Lord has brought together all of his creatures by the power of his spirit, not one is missing. This is the promise that was written. Isaiah has searched it out and found where it is written, and now he is proclaiming it is to us. If it is written, then it will become prophetic. He is prophetically speaking that over our lives and he is saying “this is how God works, does certain things, that he is the one who has brought together all of his creatures by the power of his spirit. This is so beautiful because if God has said that he is going to bring together all of his creatures, if it is already written, then the physical circumstances do not matter.

Isaiah was writing at a time when everybody were being scattered. There was a lot of destruction that was coming upon the land. The entire land would be made desolate, it would be almost like this nation is cursed, there are going to be armies invading day in and day out. All the cattle of the field, the beast of the forest will be scattered out of the land. At a time like that, Isaiah is referring to a promise that is in the book of the Lord. He says “this is what is written about what will happen in this land, this is what is written about how God will bring together the creatures of this land. I am going to believe this and trust in this and stand on this.

I hope that you can find a promise from the Lord for your city and for your nation in the scripture. I hope that you have something to stand upon. The bible says that God is going to do all of this by his spirit. All the great and mighty works that God has promised to you will be translated and achieved on to this physical world by the power of the Holy Spirit. When he does it, the bible says not one will be missing – not one of the promises will be missing, not one of the creatures will be missing, not one of the manifestations will be missing.

Will you receive that as a declaration over your life, that not one of God’s promises in your marriage, finances, ministry, over your city, over your nation will ever go missing? Because it is written, and there has to be a group of people, a group of bible lovers who will rise up and say “it is written so I will stand on it, it is written so I will pray with it, it is written so that will become my revelation for worship, it is written so I will not turn to the left or the right, I stay put until I see the spirit of God bring it to pass and not one of it will be missing”.
