Labour Pains Again
Listen
Let’s take in every day with gratitude as an opportunity to manifest God’s life in ours. The Bible discusses the anguish our spiritual parents face for us which Paul discloses in detail in this passage. Paul has an innermost desire of his spiritual children prioritizing Christ’s life than theirs.
There are often misconceptions that if you are a church goer, you by default have gotten a free access to enter heaven or if your belief system is stable then all is well and there’s nothing more to add on to that.
Paul is distraught as he admits he is enduring “labour pains” for them so as for the eyes of their hearts to be open and experience the light of Jesus allowing Him to fully develop in their lives.
Role models are who children aspire to be. Those are usually fixated on parents or prominent figures when Paul is actually trying to say to fix your eyes on Jesus, the perfect example. So that His glory is reflected in your life. Hence, Paul states that he will be persistent in his labour in the form of intercession, mentoring and counseling his spiritual children all for the manifestation of God’s traits in them.
If you’re a spiritual parent, God has called you to be in labour for the ones you’re leading in the Lord with consistency of prayer and hard work. The pain suffered is for the victorious fulfillment of the radiant reflection of Christ in their lives.
Spiritual children should never forget to acknowledge the intense hardships that their mentors have overcome unlike the church Paul is addressing this message to, who didn’t serve where credit is due.
Submit to their leadership and guidance with holy insight and reassure yourself that their goal is to help you triumph like Jesus. They will continue to be in your life to help you to run that race. Ponder over this thought of wanting to be less like the world and more like Jesus.
