Set Apart for God
Listen
Transcript:
In the old testament, the Lord gave ordinances to the Israelites who were travelling from Egypt to the promised land, Canaan. In this particular instance, God was speaking about the firstborn of their crops, livestock, and children. In Numbers 3:13, God says “For all the firstborn males are mine.” He clearly says that all the firstborn males born in the camp of Israel belong to Him.
Further, He says that on the day He struck down the firstborn sons of Egyptians, He has set apart for Himself all the firstborn in Israel both of people and of animals. They were also supposed to be judged like everybody else, but He spared them. The Israelites were as much sinful, stubborn and rebellious as the Egyptians were, and they too were deserved to be punished like the people of Egypt, but they were spared from the judgement because they were set apart for God.
The only way to receive the favour of God is to have our lives set apart for His purposes. The only way that we can escape the judgement that is kept for everybody that lives on the earth because of their sins is to receive His redemption by setting ourselves apart to serve God.
My prayer is that today you would desire to set apart your life, your business, your ministry, your marriage, your finances, and your relationships by saying that these belong to God and they are not mine. When we make that commitment saying I am wholly set apart to serving God, the angel of death that brings judgment from God will not be able to have access over you.
The only way to receive the favour of God is to have our lives set apart for His purposes. Share on XI want you to spend some time in the presence of God and set apart those areas of your life that need the favour of God, and then, you will see the grace, mercy and the favour of God that comes from a lifestyle of being set apart.
