When we grow in our understanding and revelation, we grow in reverence for the Lord. Our actions and maturity begin to evolve. Our reactions and responses will change. Our choices and decisions will be brand new.
The Bible says in Nehemiah 5:15, God used him in the rebuilding of the temple. Nehemiah did not follow the patterns of the Governors. The way Nehemiah treated people was different. The culture he followed was unique, as he didn’t put any burden on people or charge them any money, as opposed to the popular culture at that time. Whatever he did, in all of it, he revered God. All his actions were driven by the fear of the Lord.
The fear of God is such that it has to change our lifestyle, choices, attitude, behaviour etc. Everything has to change based on how much we respect and fear the Lord. If we really believe that the Lord is going to use us as leader over the cities and nations, then we must do our part of responding to situations with the fear of Lord, and not with the fear of law, people, reputation, or social media. If we don’t have the reverence for the Lord, then we don’t have the basic understanding of how to walk, grow and live in the wisdom of God. The fear of the Lord is not just the boundary markers we see around our lives to protect us from sinning. It also helps to guide our steps and navigate our life. So, may our only concern and focus, be to live a life with the fear of the Lord.
