Treasure in Your House
Listen
Transcript:
Good morning, and greetings to you in Jesus’ previous name. Today, the Lord wants to deposit something fresh into your home, your careers, and your businesses. The Lord is a merciful, all-knowing, and all providing God. There is going to be no need in your life that is going to be left unmet. All that we need to do is keep relying on God and Godly principles to meet each and every one of those needs. As long as we are trying to fend for ourselves and trying to do things with our own wisdom and understanding, we will be miserable. We will be unsatisfied. There will be so many areas of our lives where we will not see answers and solutions but the more we depend on God, the more we rely on His goodness, His kindness, the more we will see satisfaction, prosperity, answers and solutions coming after us.
Proverbs 15:06 says, There is treasure in the house of the godly, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble. (NLT)
There is a comparison being drawn out between the Godly and the wicked. The Book of Proverbs is full of this- how the Godly speak and how the wicked speak; how the Godly do relationships and how the wicked do relationships. Here we are talking about the finance aspect. We’re talking about how they spend money. We’re talking about how they save money. It says the house of the Godly is filled with treasure. They know how to save up, how to spend wisely, give, sow, be generous with their offerings because there is treasure in their house. My prayer and hope are that in the season ahead we will be those that are identified as the Godly ones so that there can be treasure in our homes, so there can be great wisdom with which we will use our finances. See, it is not that God doesn’t want to bless us with money. It is that we are not relying adequately on God for the wisdom and grace to spend that money in the right manner. Depend on God. Just ask Him, is this Godly decision to spend so much money on this thing?, how is this going to bring glory to You, how is this going to bring honour to You? That is something I keep asking every time I buy a gadget, fabric, or equipment, or something for the house even if it is for personal use, “How is this going to bring glory to God?” “Is this a Godly choice for me to invest so much money into this?” “Is this a Godly ground for me to sow this into?”. There is a treasure in the house of the Godly, not just ordinary money. There is a big difference between treasure and money. The Bible says, in the house of the one that is wise, i.e., Godly, there is a treasure. The Amplified version says it is a great and priceless treasure. It is not just about money. It is the wisdom that the person carries, the grace he has to manage money, to manage wealth, to use that wealth to glorify God’s Name. That is the treasure in itself. We look at their cars and houses and get jealous. That is not the real treasure. The real treasure is the wisdom that they have to know how to use that money and to use those resources. The Bible says that it is in the house of the Godly, so if you are a Godly person, you can claim this as a promise, as your destiny, as something that would manifest and work for you. There is going to be treasure in your house. All that you need to work for is to pursue Godly choices and Godliness in every aspect of your life- your relationships, your career, ministry.
When you pursue Godliness, your house will never lack treasure. Share on XThe verse says, the earnings of the wicked, even their ‘hard worked for money, brings them trouble, vexation, challenges and problems. We think that money solves the problems and that it is the answer to trouble, but money is trouble for them. The difference between the first and the second category is not in how much they earn, it is how Godly or wicked they are.
My prayer is that as we pursue and seek after the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and as His Godliness shines forth in our life, there will be a great change in how we are able to steward our finances, that there would be treasure in our house this day forward, that there would be nothing stolen from you, taken away from you, that nothing will bring trouble to your home, that everything that you have will be your priceless treasure. It cannot be measured by people around you, not measured in terms of how big your house or vehicle is, or how educated your children are. It has to be measured in heavenly standards because it is a priceless treasure. It is a blessing that God is giving each and every one of us to pursue a lifestyle of being Godly. There is a treasure in the house of the Godly. May your house be known for the treasure you have, known as the house of the Godly.
