Greetings in Jesus name. I pray that today we will enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. His heart is that we will remain satisfied and content in his Goodness. When we derive our satisfaction from mere pleasure or provision in this world around us, then we will never be satisfied as they don’t have the ability to satisfy our soul.
The only place where our soul can be satisfied is in the presence of God. It is necessary today, we come to the Lord and be satisfied with his goodness, not by goodness of our jobs or spouses, friends or churches or even good things like ministries. You cannot be satisfied with anything seen on the outside.
Our ultimate satisfaction comes from the feet of Jesus.
I am going to read Ecclesiastes 6:3, “ If a man doth beget a hundred” which means if he has hundred children, he is very productive, potent and prosperous enough to feed a hundred children on a daily basis. Can you imagine his wealth, imagine his servants, vehicles, schools and resources at his disposal? If this man begets a hundred, he can live many years; his life is long and he has a healthy lifestyle and he has perfect strength.
There is a description about his years, they are awesome, there is nothing going against him, he has hundred children, lived many years and those many years are going great due to the days of those years Every day he has blessings, testimonies, he is the envy of the people around him. The Bible says each of these days are gorgeous, awesome, he is experiencing greatness all through the year, the Bible says “still if his soul is not satisfied from the goodness” if his soul is not satisfied from the goodness of God in his life.
Now just reason with me, do you think it is possible for someone with hundred children and adequate wealth to take care of them, all the days of his life each day, each year is great. He has everything under the sun, do you think he can be in a place where he is not satisfied or there is one place that is unmet? Yet, the Bible says that there is a danger that he is not satisfied with the goodness. If his definition of goodness is not enough, not the perfect health that he has got. If his definition of goodness is each year of life, which is better than each passing year, it is not possible for him to be satisfied with that goodness.
This morning, I want you to redefine the goodness of the Lord. It doesn’t mean that you have great and good health, doesn’t mean that you are able to do so much with your money and life and ministry, the definition of goodness is to be at the feet of Jesus, because Moses said “show me your glory” God said “I’m going to show you my goodness”
When we want to experience God's goodness in its truest form, we need to experience the glory of God. Share on XThe Bible says if this guy is not satisfied with the goodness and if he hath not the grave, or in other words he doesn’t have a burial place or a place of rest, he is constantly going from one thing to the other. Yes, he has a lot of children to bank on, he has amazing health and yet does not have any rest. Do you know that our ultimate rest is at the feet of Jesus? It is in his presence we can sleep, forget all our fears and anxiety and just let go and let him be God in our lives.
The Bible says “if this guy, who is not satisfied with goodness and has no place to lay his head, then he is saying ”Better than he is the one that is untimely or prematurely born.’ Do you know what it is to be prematurely born? The child is in need of external support. He cannot live without the incubator or external forces helping his heart, lungs and digestive system. There are so many medications injected into this baby, born premature.
The Bible says such is the life of somebody who is not satisfied with the goodness of good, because you will always be dependent on external forces and help to ensure you are happy in life, but today your life, heart and perspectives are changing. You will be satisfied with the goodness of the Lord and satisfied at the feet of Jesus and you will be able to rest in his presence. I declare this over you in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
