But the boy’s mother said, “As surely as the LORD lives and you yourself live, I won’t go home unless you go with me.” So Elisha returned with her. – 2 Kings 4:30

Good morning & Greetings in Jesus precious name! The Lord is so merciful to us, He’s compassionate, He’s kind, He loves us so much, He wants to heal and restore and redeem every area of our life. Today, if we are going to yield to Him, He will work like a potter works on clay, He will work on the failures and challenges we have allowed in our lives, He will bring healing.

But there is a catch, He can heal us only to the measure of our faith, He can bless us only to the measure we are ready to receive it, you would see how God healed people in the New Testament and Old Testament in different ways.

In 2 Kings 4:29, Then Elisha said to Gehazi, “Get ready to travel; take my staff and go! Don’t talk to anyone along the way. Go quickly and lay the staff on the child’s face.” But the child’s mother said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.

We see how the Lord blessed the Shunamite woman with a child because of the donor, generosity, graciousness she showed on the prophet and his servant. One day, when the child grew up, he passed away, one after all of a sudden and now she is expecting healing from God.

You see how Elisha gives a solution, he told Gehazi, “Why don’t you take my Staff and go and keep it on the face of the Child and the child is going to live”, but this Lady wasn’t satisfied with that, she wasn’t happy, I am not going to go back if your servant comes with a staff, I am going to go back only and only if you yourself come to my house, lo and behold when the servant came and kept the staff on the Child’s face, absolutely nothing changed. But wasn’t this the instruction from the prophet, didn’t God speak through the prophet?, didn’t God want to heal this child?. And still, because the woman that had come to the prophet she put a limitation through her faith. That is why the miracle didn’t happen, even though there was a word from God, and instruction from the prophet, the staff of the prophet was released, the assistant of the manor God has come personally, all of that was limited because of the woman limitation to believe staff can work.

In the New Testament, you will see has the shadows could heal the sick, how handkerchiefs could heal the sick, even an edge of rob of Jesus without his knowledge got healed, at one point, Jesus was so impressed by the faith of this roman officer who said Jesus should send a word and my servant would be healed. It was possible if the woman would have trusted the instruction of the prophet, staff and servant that came, that would have been enough for her healing to manifest. So many times, we put limitations upon our circumstances, on the people God is using in our lives, on the instructions God gives us, when we put limitations, even if God has decided and desired to heal, bless, redeem you, it is not going to come forth, it is not going to help.

So in this season, we have to expect the unexpected, we have to be willing to believe what he says, what God has revealed to us, what he has shown us. The story of Zechariah, how when he doubts, God immediately stopped him from speak because God knows that if he continues to speak, he can kill his own miracle with his words, that is why God didn’t allow Zechariah to speak, all the way till d time that John was born.

Our limitations on God's plan hinder the promise of God in our lives. Share on X

My prayer and hope are that we will become intentional to believe what God is speaking over our lives, that the words he has spoken, the prophesies he has given, the promises he has released will not be voided because of the limitation that we place upon God’s word, that we place upon God’s plans in our lives.

I hope that this word was a word of warning and encouragement to some of us this morning. Have a blessed and beautiful day ahead full of faith and life-giving confessions that flow from your mouth.
