Honorable Lives
Listen
Transcript:Good Morning & Greetings in Jesus name! Welcome to this amazing new day!
Today, the Lord wants us to be assured that irrespective of what people say, irrespective of what people give or take from us, irrespective of how they behave in front of us and behind us, the Lord knows how to turn around every situation, every relationship for His glory and for His name sake; all that we need to do is trust the process.
We need to allow the Lord to change our character; usually when we are faced with difficult relationships, our prayer is Lord change this person, change my spouse, change my children, change my parents and these kind of prayers are always directed outwards and yet when we read the word, we see how God wants us to change ourselves before expecting the people around us to change. Our change, our lives and our character is the ultimate way to change the people around us, to change their attitude and behavior towards us.
The scripture 1 Peter 2: 15 says,
‘It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you’.
When you live a life filled with character, God’s presence, filled with the principles of God’s word, driven by His spirit, your life will be such that it will demand respect, it will demand honor. When we live lives that bring glory and honor to God, it is obvious that we will be honored by God, favored by God and it will also bring honor from the people around us. This is irrespective of whether they like us or not, whether they follow us or not, whether they go to the same church or not, they will see the honorable lives we live, they have the capacity to see that,
The mistake we make is we feel that only an anointed Man of God or a prophet or people with gift of discernment are able to see our honorable life, our character and love for Jesus. But here it says that it is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people.
Your honorable life which is filled with God’s word and presence, has the potential to silence the people around you and it is not talking about the spiritual, the wise and the intelligent. This is speaking about people who are unaware of who you are in the spirit realm. So, your character and your honorable life can actually silence the people that are accusing you, silence the people that are looking down on you, silence the people that are constantly trying to hurt you.God’s word calls this category of people foolish and ignorant because the words that come from their mouth do not align to what God is speaking over you, that is how you categorize people as foolish. When we look around us, we look at people who have made a lot of money, that have a good name in the society and are settled and we think that they are wise and yet God determines who is successful and who is foolish and ignorant based on the words that come out of their mouth and it is the words that hurt the most.
The Bible says these words of accusation, condemnation, words of hurt and words that are insulting you, these words will loose power when they are thrown at a man or a woman who is living a honorable life. The words may come out but it will be silenced, muted and rendered powerless because of your character,
Your honorable life is the best defense against all the accusation and weapons that the enemy throws at you. You don’t need to hire people to talk good about you, you don’t need to write good things about yourself online and you don’t need to defend your decisions and choices, but your favor, your grace and honor is going to speak for you, to fight for you in the midst of ignorant people, foolish people, in the midst of accusations, accusatory tone and lifestyles. God says its His will to silence the enemies with your character.
Make this your prayer and say, ‘Lord make me a vessel of honor, make me a honorable person, every word I speak to be honorable. I want to be a honorable man or a woman, I want to be a honorable child of God. Give me the grace to live like that in my marriage, in my parenting, in my church, in my city, in my nation and workplace and wherever you send me Lord, cause me to be an honorable person.’
We thank you Holy spirit for this word, let this word go deep into their spirt and cause transformation, in Jesus name we pray. Amen
