Man of Endurance
Listen
Welcome to this brand new day that the Lord has given us!
One of the characters that most of our churches don’t talk about is Job, a man of great endurance!
James says endurance is essential for our faith to increase and he points us to Job. Many folks think that our endurance should come from a place of persecution but Job went through a demonic attack and he endured through all of that pain and suffering.
God allowed suffering in Job’s life but He was also kind and merciful to him as well.
Can it be that God is kind to us but still answers don’t come to us at the right time and things don’t go as we expected it to be?
James says we need endurance in these kinds of seasons. What does it mean to have endurance?
An athlete while running a race gets tired on his way to the finish line but the ability to press on and keep going and finishing the race is endurance.
Job didn’t have the presence of the Holy Spirit, he didn’t have a mediator, an encouraging church or even the Word but he still endured.
Then how much more should we have endurance when we have all of the above?
I hope this podcast helps you to build up your perspective of enduring in times of difficulty and uncertainty and I pray that God’s mercy and compassion will meet you as well as you endure.
Your are blessed!
