Mark 1:40-42 NLT
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If You are willing, You can heal me and make me clean,” he said.
Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” He said. “Be healed!”
Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.
Series: Believe Cause of My Works – John 14:11
We have been studying on the works, miracles and the significant glorious expression of God’s power. Because of many of these expressions, it gives us reasons to believe in Jesus. There was nobody else who did miracles the way Jesus did. There was nobody else that did the glorious works the way God did through Jesus.
Today we will study from the gospel of Mark chapter 1 verses 40, 41& 42.
The scripture says, a man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “He says, if You are willing, You can heal me and make me clean. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” He said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.”
This is another miracle that we see in Mark chapter 1. In yesterday’s portion of scripture we saw Peter’s mother-in-law being healed. The first thing they did was they told Jesus, we see the same thing here. This man came in a posture of humility. It says that he knelt in front of Jesus almost in a posture of begging. Since we are children of God you and I don’t have to beg but we have to come to Him in a posture of humility, that’s why Jesus said that whatever you ask in His name you will receive it from the Father. Not because of what you have done, but because of what Jesus has done.
The leper asked Jesus to heal him and make him clean. Being healed is one thing, where your disease might get stopped, you might get deliverance, or breakthrough but becoming clean is being restored, it’s about becoming whole, Many pray to God just for healing but they don’t ask for cleansing. We think that Jesus is only the healer but He is also the cleanser, He is also the person who can make us whole. A leper once healed, it’s still doesn’t mean that he is socially acceptable because anybody who looks at his hands can see that he had leprosy once upon a time, but when the person is cleansed, or made whole the person is welcomed back into the community and he can live life as a normal person.
The question he asked Jesus is “Lord if You are willing? Bible says that Jesus was moved with compassion and healed him.
If you can just come to a place of humility, you will receive the touch from Jesus. The bible says, Jesus reached out and touched him. Many people who would have even want to cleanse him, they would have just prayed for him. Nobody had the dare to reach out and touched the leper but Jesus in fact reached out and touched him. The bible says, “Jesus said, I am willing, be healed and instantly the leprosy disappeared.”
So believe that Jesus is willing to heal things in your life, whether it’s your marriage, relationships, work or anything. When He is willing, nobody can stop us, nobody can stand against us.
Have a blessed day ahead.
