Priests that Preserve
Listen
So often we live as Christians and children of God who are completely unaware of what God is doing in our day and time. We do think, yes Jesus did die for us thousands of years back but right now He is in heaven and we are just beneficiaries of His blessings and recipients of His amazing work, without realizing that even today He is working on our behalf.
Jesus doesn’t have to work or do anything for us. He is the most glorious person in heaven and yet today He is interceding and offering incense on our behalf.
In Numbers 16:46 Moses is giving an instruction to Aaron to burn incense so he could stop the Lord’s anger, as God was about to destroy the entire nation of Israel.
Jesus did become the sacrificial lamb on the cross when He died for us and yet He is still offering this incense for constant purification and sanctifying in the presence of the Father.
The Bible says that God could have just wiped out the nation of Israel and preserved Moses and his family and He could have made them into a big nation. But Moses refused and stood in the gap for this nation along with Aaron and that is why this nation was spared. They not only put their life’s on line but now they went an extra mile to offer incense to purify the people of God.
Today, we are pure, consecrated, sanctified and righteous not because of what we are doing but because of what Jesus is doing for us in heaven. He is continuously interceding for us.
And, now we are also the royal priesthood that God has chosen and called out of this world. We live in a world where we can see sin, rebellion and disobedience. What should be our natural response when we see that? Do we pray and intercede and stand in the gap for them or just condemn them?
The Lord has not called us to be only worshipers but also to be a royal priest. Share on XA job of the priest is to stand in the gap. So we truly believe that we are also priests here on earth just like Jesus is our priest in heaven, then we are the salt of the earth.
Salt is a natural preservative and the job of salt is to preserve whatever it is part of.
May the Lord cause your life, your words, your prayers, testimonies and ministry be the reason to preserve your church, your city and nation.
God told lot and his family that he cannot do anything unless he move out from that city because they were the salt of the city. In fact the Bible says that Lot’s wife turned out to be a salt pillar after she looked back at the city. She was in fact the salt of that place and the reason why the place was not burnt to the ground in the first place.
If we can function as the salt of the earth that will constantly intercede for the people around us and work for their salvation, we can bring nations to the Lord. The difference is not the decision they are going to make but what choices we are going to make today.
May the Lord open your eyes to see who you really are. You may not necessarily become the sacrificial lamb but you can take what Jesus has done and stand in the gap for nations to pray and intercede.
Hope that you will take it up seriously and exercise it for the rest of that day.
