Wherever we are in life, may we see what the Lord is doing for us, understand His finished work on the cross, and may we see the work that He is doing for us at the right hand of the Father. Never be of the impression that Jesus is now resting because He already paid the price on the cross. The Bible says that He is seated at the right hand of the Father and He is praying and interceding for us. Our circumstances and the people around us are constantly telling us what will become of us. Yet there is an Interceder Who is speaking a better word over our lives, and His plans are to prosper and bless us. Peter was a man who really loved Jesus but in his passion for Jesus, sometimes he depended too much on his flesh. When we depend on our flesh, we fail miserably. When Peter was about to be tempted and he was about to deny knowing Jesus, Jesus said, “But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:32).
There are many things that can fluctuate in our lives but the one thing that will remain constant is the grace which makes sure our faith doesn’t fail. This faith is not from the earth but a result of hearing the word of God. The word of God is imperishable, nothing can kill that word of God and so our faith shall not fail. If Jesus had not prayed for Peter, there was a chance, that faith would not have worked for him. Jesus tells Peter that He has prayed for him and because of that, his faith did not fail. There may be times when it looks like our faith has failed, but because He has prayed, we should strengthen our brethren. The Lord desires that our failures and messes become the reason for the strengthening of our brethren. God let Peter fail not because He wanted to hurt him but because He wanted to use Peter to strengthen his brethren.
Let’s not be discouraged for the Lord says that He has prayed for us, our faith will not fail, and we will strengthen our brethren.
