Transcript:
Apostle Priji: Greetings and welcome to Leadership podcast. This podcast is specifically for anyone who is desiring to grow in leadership, to imitate leadership style of Jesus. I’m so excited to introduce our guest today, we have my mother and Prophetess of Revive Nations, who is joining to share her experience in leadership. Thank you mom for agreeing to do this.
What does it really requires for us to be a leader?
Prophetess Tiny: leader is someone who is led by the Lord and who is willing to do everything that the Lord commands him/her to do. If you look at Moses, he was not a great communicator or someone who was skilled. And yet God chose him as a leader, he was someone who heard the voice of God and was led by God. Because he heard God’s voice he was able to lead a generation. That’s the main quality of a leader: some one who is led and who is obedient and someone who says yes to God.
They say the that being a pastor is one of the hardest jobs in the world because they keep giving but the only way you can do it is because you say yes to God. That’s what defines you.
Apostle Priji: So, a relationship with God is a necessary thing; its not optional. It is something we are dependent on because leadership is not based on our skills and abilities and so we have to depend on God on a daily basis. And this is exactly how Jesus led; He was depended on His Father as He was leading.
When and how do we draw boundaries with people? How do we manage the expectations that people have from us and how do we draw right boundaries about it?
Prophetess Tiny: Keeping boundaries with people is such a wise thing to do. We love people and get attached with them but in the long run, they become dependent on you more than on God. As leaders we have to set boundaries, but when it comes to teaching, don’t hold back; use every opportunity to teach, correct and guide the people.
Apostle Priji: I completely agree with you mom, specially when you said that we need to get comfortable in saying “NO”. How do we process when people get bitter and offensive because of our ‘NO’?
Prophetess Tiny: For me personally it happens over experience. Some people whom we knew left, people whom we gave everything. And when they had to leave, they dint even say a bye to me! Once God spoke to me through my daughter Kathryn, “Let them go! Don’t hold on to these thing” People will come and people will go. I’ve been immune to praises and criticism of people. When people praise me, I’m not moved, when they criticize me I’m not moved.
Apostle Priji: Sometimes when our validation comes from people , their rejection really hurts us deep. These are occasions when the deep issues of our heart is exposed. We see how Jesus was not affected when Judas left but he did pour himself out to His Father in his private time. Mom, I would like to ask, how would you encourage somebody who is broken. or someone who feels miserable as a leader as a father and mother in the house?
Prophetess Tiny: I think this is what the enemy wants, he wants you to give up, to give in and to walk away from everything that the Lord wants you to have. When we allow discouragement or negative thought, we are basically allowing enemy to enter in and that has to bother us. For me, I keep praying Lord don’t let the enemy win and we have seen success. We cannot give into the lies of the enemy.
Second is that when we feel discouraged that’s when we have to do everything in our power to go to our spiritual leaders. Sometimes we need the voice to lift us up. Either you hear the word of God through app or youtube video, but do everything to hear a greater voice than what you are hearing right now. And once you feel free is when you start running to the Lord, this is the time when you have to run to the Lord like never before. We have to stay at His feet and worship and keep telling Him how much you love Him. Bible says that He is close to the brokenhearted. We are being molded and fine-tuned in our brokenness; we are allowing His love and strength to manifest. We come out beautiful. Everything that we go through has a purpose. God is your greatest cheerleader. He believes in you more than you believe in yourself. So if the Lord has not given up on you then why would you give up and give into the lies of the enemy.
Apostle Priji: As you were speaking mom, one scripture that came into my mind is, Christ in us is the hope of glory. When we have Christ in us it cannot be that we have hopeless perspective in life. We have Christ in us, we have the Spirit of God in us, how can we give up! How important is it for us to be accountable to our spiritual leaders?
Prophetess Tiny:We need to know that this is the man or the woman that God has brought in my life and we need to do whatever it takes to receive help. Sometimes just hearing a superior voice helps you and the enemy tries a lot to stop you by different means like guilt, condemnation. I learn to handle certain things that I can handle but sometimes you need that voice, maybe you are deceived in some areas, there has to be a superior voice who can help you. When I go to my spiritual mother, I go with a lot of reverence. If you have a leader, don’t withhold yourself. Its vital that you take help.
Apostle Priji:On a personal note I want to thank you mom, for being a strong voice over us. Would you take a moment to pray for our listeners.
Prophetess Tiny: Lord Jesus we thank you for this opportunity. Whoever is listening to this podcast, may healing takes place, may you open there eyes and understanding. I speak healing and strengths into the life of all the leaders who are listening. Give us the grace to do what you have called us to do; I pray that there mindset will be shifted. May a new anointing fill all the listeners. In mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen
