All of us who have been created, called and appointed by the Lord are gifted with leadership abilities. The hindrance of completing the purpose that God has called us for is the lack of understanding of who we are and also the lack of understanding of how God works. The truth is we try to believe that God will work even though we are passive which is completely false. In the Kingdom of God, we are warriors and soldiers.
We must become intentional and purposeful about our leadership. The reason why we neglect things imagining it is out of our capability is because it is too heavy a burden for us to carry. This takes place because we lack of training. In the Scriptures, the most prominent of warriors were taken through a process, which was not pleasant or comfortable. A process of test of faith, finances, health, relationship, walk with God. This was in order to strengthen them to carry the burden of the responsibilities God would be putting on their shoulders.
We do not want to be a part of the process but want the reward of it. It is the process that enables us to carry our responsibilities. If we were supposed to immediately be gifted and carrying out our responsibilities, then there would be no purpose of Jesus spending three and a half years in training His disciples. The problem is that we are so highly anointed that we do not want to be a part of the process and we are not intentional about our responsibilities. The right example from the Bible, would be David that after he was anointed he went back to being a shepherd.
Allow the Lord to take you through the process, work on your heart, life and finances. God knows how and where to train you. Do not tell God of what you want to do but live a life with absolute surrender and letting Him teach you His ways. It is easy to want to live holy and righteous life but we must pray for Him to teach us His ways which in turn helps us to live a truthful life. Even if we make the highest of efforts with our capabilities, we are going to fail miserably. When we have a desire, reach it not with your own capability but in His way. God is the one who created the desire in your heart and wants you to fulfil but not with your own capability. The important aspect is in the way or journey you fulfil the desire. When we go out of God’s way with our capability is when we fall prey to ungodliness or impurity.
When you are a leader, you are leading people but your first responsibility is to be led by God. When you are not being led you cannot lead others. We try to be our own shepherds or let our ministry or goals be our shepherds.
Let us redefine our relationship with God, not only to acknowledge Him every day but to understand for Him to lead us in every tiny aspect of our life. The world wants us to be spontaneous to every situation but it is okay to take time and understand God’s will. Let us surrender to God to take over our ways with His, as His ways, thoughts, dreams, goals are higher than ours. Let us become submissive to His ways. Seek for grace to living according to the truth.
Make this prayer:
“Lord, give me the grace to know the truth because the truth is what sets me free. Every lie that kept in the name of bondage, I expose in the name of Jesus. I receive truth, truth that is eternal, beautiful, has the grace to lead me, has the power to free me. Teach me to know your ways so I may live according to your truth. Grant me the purity of heart. There have been times where I have been pure on the outside but in this season, give me a heart which is pure, submissive to you, willing and obedient to you. Lord, for the rest of my life I want to live honourable to you. My goal is not materialistic but my goal is to honour you. Lord, align everything which helps me to live an honourable life to you. Let me be a honourable child of God, testament of your love.”
