Pastor Priji Varghese: Were you always a believer? How long is it since you’ve been saved?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: I was saved in 1999 in a fasting prayer when I realised that my life needs change. I gave my heart to God and got baptised. All the while it has been God’s grace leading and protecting me.

Pastor Priji Varghese: What was the one thing that kept you going in the high and low times in your relationship with God? What are you most fascinated about Him?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: There are times you may forget the promises of God in your life, but God doesn’t and waits patiently on us. His love is what has pushed me in pursuing His grace.

Pastor Priji Varghese: When did you commit your life to ministry?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: I was in a camp called Aamchi Mumbai in 28th Dec, 2006 when I committed my life to doing anything for Him.

Pastor Priji Varghese: You planted a church (GPRC) in 2016. How did you move from a believer to a minister to a pastor?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Since dedicating my life to ministry, I never thought of leading a church. It was in 2012 that I realised my calling in a conference called Tent of Meetings in Bangalore. My calling got clearer till the day I heard I must start a church.

Pastor Priji Varghese: So it was important that you were stable in your walk with God before you started the church.

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Yes. Soon after my life with God, I constantly used to think on joining ministry and on what to do. Every time I though on those things, The Lord kept me grounded. He helped me study the Word and learn from people to wait on the Spirit of God to lead me in taking decisions.

Pastor Priji Varghese: Anything before hearing from God could’ve been dangerous.

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Yes. I remember Pastor Shyju mentioning that when a flower is just a bud you must not try to peel it out; you must wait on it to bloom for the beauty to come out.

Pastor Priji Varghese: What do your heart for Kharghar? What do you see happening in this place because of the church?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Kharghar is close to my heart. Even before having a home here, a few friends used to meet here in Central Park on Sunday evenings to pray for almost two years. Back then I desired to reach out to the people in Kharghar. The Lord later opened ways to move in and did everything else.

Pastor Priji Varghese: What are the areas of need in this city that you have sensed in your Spirit?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Just like in Elisha’s times, the city is beautiful but there is bad water and unproductive situation spiritually. The unity here among pastors must get better.

Pastor Priji Varghese: We must pray for other ministry and other pastors too. What do you do to reach out to the people here?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: We distribute Gospel literature. We do prayer walks. Lead by the Spirit, we pray for the entry and exit points of Kharghar.

Pastor Priji Varghese: You are a business man. How do you find time to do ministry within your secular work?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: There is a better Businessman- God Himself. The more I rely on Him; things get more planned out and scheduled for us. I follow up with the church constantly after office hours. We have conference calls with some members if I can’t visit them personally.

Pastor Priji Varghese: You mention you do not use WhatsApp because it kills your time? What made you do so?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: I was very active on it, but one day in Bible study, we discussed how it is important to let go of certain things to hold on to something better. God reminded me that WhatsApp takes a lot of my time. I was drawn to it addictively.

Pastor Priji Varghese: Has it helped you?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Yes. It has helped me avoid things that I should not be getting involved and kept me focussed.

Pastor Priji Varghese: This is an example to many young people who have distracted focus. Many want to do a lot of things together at the same time and they can get all over the place. They do not realise it is the little things we have to give up that are not necessarily required.

What would your advice be for someone about 10 years younger to use their time in a better way so they’ll be equipped by the time they’re older?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: Try and identify where you’ll be five years later. It’ll be easy to select your track in life. You must fix your goal.

Pastor Priji Varghese: Did you always know you’ll be in business?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: I knew I would be in business, quite early, after engineering. My focus was always there.

Pastor Priji Varghese: In ministry, did you know you’ll be a pastor?

Pastor Ligin Abraham: I never thought that. I wanted to go to Bible College and get a degree, but God showed me through the Word that the ministry would be done along with my secular work.

Pastor Priji Varghese: I never thought I’ll ever be doing business, but God is opening doors and we might end up in that though I had no plans. It is good that I equip myself too.
