Open Hostility

Welcome to another day with Jesus!
We need to pursue and stay rooted in God, His character, His mind and His heart. We need to stay rooted and grow in Christ everyday. We are not ordinary people but we are children of God and therefore we need to portray the character of God to those around us.
If you would notice, Ishmael’s descendants followed Ishmael’s character and heart. The Bible says they remained in open hostility with Issac and his descendants. When Abraham died, Ishmael and Issac came together but again after Abraham’s funeral was over they went back to their old ways and remained in open hostility with each other.
Today, we can find ourselves there too. We may be fighting and engaging in hostility with one another. What truly matters is that we are rooted in God’s percepts. The Word says when people see your love, unity and submission to one another, they will see God in us.
This morning, cross check your character, examine yourself and pull out those areas where you are in hostility and may I ask you to repent and ask God for forgiveness and grace in those areas.
Let us prepare each day for the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May you be found like a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.
