Unfailing Love
Listen
Greetings to you all in Jesus name.
May our heart be opened to revelation, may it be opened to what God wants to show you this morning.
In the book of Psalms, chapter 6:3,4 David cries to the Lord saying “I’m sick at heart, how long O Lord until You restore me?” Return O Lord and rescue me, save me because of your unfailing love; this is a heartfelt appeal from David to the heart of God. What David went through was just not physical, I’m sure there are physical reasons why this is happening. This could be a relationship struggle, a health problem or it could be your financial issue or something that is happening in His regular daily routine. Yet what was happening around him now began to affect his heart. This was not something that people could have solved, this wasn’t just a small thing where an apology from his best friend or spouse or pastor would just take this pain away because now what had happened on the outside began to affect his heart. He proclaimed “God I’m sick at heart” not just in my body, not just in my mind or finances but I’m sick at heart. I’m going through a particular ailment, going through a particular disease on the inside and that is why I need your help.
People can help you by giving you solutions or prescribe medication and all those external things. But matters of the heart there is very little people can do. Only the creator who made that heart who put that heart inside of you can reach your past and your present and your future and heal areas of your heart that are wounded, bleeding and hurting.
This morning let us be encouraged to invite the presence of God to be invited to those wounded areas of our hearts, it’s okay to expose them back to God, He is the one who created that heart and knows everything that you have gone through and still going through and makes an appeal, just as David did as he makes an appeal to God but how long until You restore me; waiting for hours, days and months till You restore me. David here is not blaming God for the pain inflicted on Him and yet relies on God to be his answer, solution and to be the One who takes him out of trouble.
Sometimes we expect God to answer us but we also blame Him for what we go through or the reason for our suffering. But we see here David does not do that, He understands that there are times and seasons when his actions and consequences can lead him to challenging phases of his life and yet I have to understand my solution, my answer, my healing, my breakthrough all comes from God and would You restore me and only He can express in verse 4 where he believes that God will restore him because of His unfailing love. Here we see him expressing a disconnection of the Lord’s presence, yes His love is constant and grace never-ending but it is not manifesting anywhere and he says he does not see God fighting for him anymore so he asks God to return to him and that is enough for him because when God does return to him, He will rescue him.
He is appealing to God and saying he needs God’s presence and encounter one more time, he needs to experience God up-close and personal one more time, an intimate experience. That is his prayer and he goes on to mention a reason why God should save him, he says save me because of your unfailing love that is a condition that will never fail you. If our reasons have to do with our good works and expect God to heal and deliver they are all very flimsy foundations to base our prayers on.
Unfailing Love Share on XDavid says “save me because of Your unfailing love” will You heal my heart, because of Your unfailing love will You restore me, because of Your unfailing love will You hurry up because its been a long time, because of Your unfailing love will You return to me, because of Your unfailing love will you please rescue me, because of Your unfailing love please save me. That is the heart cry of David.
I pray that you and I cry out for the same to God for, we will pray for, we will desire for and embrace everything this season!
God bless you.
