Making Music
Ephesians 5:19
“Singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”

What are the reasons we could give glory and praises to God?
– Because of the Father who gave us every spiritual blessing through Jesus.
– He gave us His own Son Jesus. He poured Him out upon us and made us part of His glorious grace.
– Because we trust in Jesus Christ we have a reason now to praise and glorify God.
– Because we have been given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of the inheritance that we belong to God.
Today we will read Ephesians 5:19 which says “Singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”
If we are having a lifestyle of praise, this is how people will identify us that we will be singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs among ourselves, which means that it’s not necessary we have to be before huge group to lead worship, or in a huge concert, but there has to be natural overflow where we will be constantly singing psalms.
One of the best ways to worship is to read the book of Psalms. Singing psalms is a very helpful way to express your worship and praise to God.
And the second is hymns. Hymns are any songs that are written by people who had an encounter with God.
And the third is to sing spiritual songs. These are not just hymns with lyrics but these are prophetic songs which are born out of the spirit. It will be the Holy spirit leading you to sing at that particular time. Sometimes they may actually be prophetic in nature, in terms of how your heart is feeling, sometimes words would just begin to come in and they would become prophetic spiritual songs. In these days it’s called “spontaneous worship/songs”.
In our hearts we are constantly making music to the Lord, constantly dancing to the tune of God’s Spirit, that is what worship really is.
When we are filled with Holy Spirit we will naturally begin to sing psalms, hymns, spiritual songs and make music to the Lord in our hearts.
When we yield ourselves to the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit without holding anything back, that’s when we can praise and worship God in any situation.
