Often Reproved

“Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism, will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.” – Proverbs 29:1

Transcript:

Good morning & Greetings in Jesus name. Welcome to this amazing new day. I believe God wants to do a new thing today in our lives. He wants to heal us, help us, restore those areas of our lives that are out of shape, that looks like there is no hope, no return or there is no answers or solutions!

The real question is, are we willing to trust the process, trust the help, trust the way and the method God would use to mould us and bring us into our promised land. Israelites kept questioning God’s plan all through the 40 years. They kept murmuring, doubting, losing their trust and their faith, as a result of this all of those people ended up perishing in the wilderness.

The Bible says in Proverbs 29:1, “Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism, will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.”

Our stubbornness can bring you to a place of destruction from which there is no recovery. Everything has a way out, but the only thing that doesn’t have a solution is stubbornness. In ESV the verse goes like, “He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.” It talks about a person who is instructed helped, taught the word of God, counselled and mentored, sitting in the service every day, experiencing the presence of God and yet when it comes to action he stiffens his neck or he stubbornly refuses to accept the help that he received. It says that this person will be broken and hurt without recovery. This person will be destroyed without any hope of recovery or restoration.

Everything has a way out, but the only thing that doesn’t have a solution is stubbornness. Share on X

When we take the help, the counsel, the prophesies, the revelations, the instructions that are given to us for granted, there comes a tipping point, a boiling point beyond which we will lose the grace of God over our life. And then we will be wondering, what did I do wrong, oh! I did one mistake. But what you don’t know is that it is a cumulative effect of what you have not been doing for the last seven years. One thing has been leading to another and it is almost like a domino effect, leading you up to this point. The word of God says, he who is often reproved, one who is regularly taught the word of God, regularly given access to information, regularly given prophesies; if you are someone who is used to being on our podcast every day, used to be in our Sunday service every week and every day, but if you are not able to change your life, humble yourself, stubbornly keeping yourself in the life of disobedience, sin, life driven by the passion and ambition of your flesh, then all of the sudden destruction will come, the accident will arise beyond which there is no healing. This is what happened to the Israelites.

When you compare how Moses sinned and how the Israelites sinned, Moses sinned only once and God withdrew from him and did not allow him to enter the land. Whereas the Israelites sinned over and over again, and God gave them so many chances. The Bible calls them stubborn and stiff-necked people. God said I don’t want to walk with them, I don’t want to live among them. All of a sudden an entire generation was wiped away. These people were experiencing glory, they were under the cloud every morning and night. And yet they passed away in the presence of God, sudden destruction beyond recovery.
