Emotional or Spiritual?

Esther 4:15-16 MSG
“Esther sent back her answer to Mordecai: ‘Go and get all the Jews living in Susa together. Fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days, either day or night. I and my maids will fast with you. If you will do this, I’ll go to the king, even though it’s forbidden. If I die, I die.’”

This podcast is a repost, originally published on November 6, 2015.

The verse speaks about how Esther made up her mind to approach the king.

When Mordecai brought the news to Esther, she chose not to take a decision/jump into a situation emotionally.
Esther wanted to serve God with her spirit.

Generally, whatever is done in the flesh stays in the flesh but, what is done in the Spirit lasts for eternity.

Hence, Esther asked the people of Susa to fast for her along with her in order to activate the Spirit of God and destroy the plans of the enemy.

We need to be intentional about disconnecting from the flesh, or sometimes from the opinions of our family or friends, by fasting.

Fasting aligns our spirit to the Spirit of God.

It is always better to be moved by the Spirit than being moved by emotions. Many times, we die because we don’t disconnect.
