Hide Me

Psalms 64:2 KJV
“Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:”

Every time we sit to pray and ask the Lord, we need to have a purpose, a direction and a reason in our asking. So often our prayers get unanswered because we don’t have a direction. When we go to God we need to have a detailed prayer request based on God’s plan and will for our life.

For instance, if we ask God for protection, we need to learn and understand what does the Bible say about protection and use those scriptures as a basis of your prayer for your safety.

One of the prayer the Psalmist prays in 64:2 is to hide him from the secret counsel of the wicked. The wicked are not just the ones that are out there who would want to kill, or steal from you, but also the ones who are secretly scheming things against you.

Today as you begin your day, pray and ask God to hide you from the secret schemes of the enemy, this may be the demons, or humans or even anyone around you.

The Psalmist also prays to hide him from the insurrection of the workers of the iniquity, which means from the rebellion people. You may find a group of people in every setup, may be in your family, church or anywhere you go, there will be a rebellious spirit. It is not a job of a spirit filled, submissive, child of God to create rebellion.

May the secret counsel of the wicked not affect you and give you the grace not to rebel against the government or any leaders or the spiritual father.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
