Morning by Morning
Isaiah 50:4
The Sovereign Lord has given me His words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning He wakens Me and opens My understanding to His will.

In this book of Isaiah we get to learn what God is feeling, what God is speaking, and what He wants to do for us and through us.
Isaiah 50 is very prophetic about the life and character of Jesus. Here in verse 4 it records a prayer of Jesus.
“The Sovereign Lord has given Me His words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning He wakens Me and opens My understanding to His will.”
This portion speaks of how Jesus would depend on His father on a daily basis for words of wisdom, words of comfort and words of strength. Now Jesus, the son of God, is God Himself. If there is one person who doesn’t have to depend on the Father, it is Jesus.
Yet, as a human being, He depended on His father like a small child would cling to his/her parents for every bit of survival. Every day when Jesus would wake up, the cry in the heart of Jesus would be, “Father I want Your words of wisdom for the day ahead, teach Me how to comfort the weary, please waken My heart and spirit to You”
We should understand that Jesus was a complete man and a total human as any of us ever could be. In fact the Bible says He was tempted in every way that we are tempted in today, yet He remained clear of sin. How did He do that? By depending on the Father, Morning by Morning!
Jesus prayed that His mind will be able to understand the Father’s will for Him. He didn’t want to live the way He wanted, He wanted to live the way the Father wanted Him to live. Today, our challenge is not that we don’t do the will of God, our problem is that we don’t even know the will of God! And that is because we don’t depend on Him daily, like Jesus did.
We need to have a consistency in going after God every day and expect Him to open our understanding to His dreams and desires for our lives. We need to see things from His perspective every single day. If Jesus had to do it, we need to rely even more so on the Father.
Jesus’ calling was to comfort the weary, most people who followed Jesus were poor and even didn’t have proper food to eat. And that’s why several times they tried making Jesus King, since they thought Jesus can help bring food for them. That’s how much comfort Jesus was able to give them. And the secret to that kind of passion and power was His willingness to daily depend on the Father.
Especially most of us who are in the ministry, pastoring and teaching and preaching, we need to go to the throne room of the Father on a daily basis, if we want to be a blessing in our generation. When we let Him give us wisdom and comfort, our ministry will never be the same again.
It all begins with that personal private and intimate times of seeking and knowing the Lord. If you will give your life to it, then your life will never be the same again.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
