Daniel was a man who had favor with God and with the people around him. It was his prayer, his dependence on God and his willingness to ask for forgiveness whenever he was praying that gave him this favor. The motive behind his prayer was to bring glory to God through everything he went through.
Daniel did not just pray once and stop. He kept on praying till the answer came. The Bible says God had answered Daniel from heaven the very first day he prayed but it took time because of all the forces at battle against the Kingdom of God. This is true today also – the Bible says we are in a spiritual battle against the unseen rulers of the dark world.
Even if you don’t see the answer to your prayers, continue to pray irrespective of the circumstances. When we continue to pray, we will experience supernatural breakthrough. Daniel did not know that God had answered him the first time he prayed. He kept on praying and all his prayers were fruitful in bringing the answer down to him.
There are many things God has already provided through His Word, through our prayers and our actions. We will reap the harvest of what we have sown. What matters is whether we will be persistent in our sowing, in our prayers, in our fight. Our prayer is more of a fight than an attitude of begging before God. God has already provided for us and taken care of us. Now we are fighting it out against the kingdom of darkness that is trying to stop us from experiencing the fullness of God in our lives.
Daniel was praying for 21 days before he got a confirmation on what he was praying for. If he had given up even an hour before the angel came, he would have missed out on the answer. Because he was persistent and committed and continued to pray even when the answers did not seem to happen, we see that the angel arrived. The angel came in God’s time. And when he came he assured Daniel that God had answered his prayer the very first time he prayed, even though he did not know it.
God is waiting for people who are persistent in prayer. Persistence is extremely key in seeing your prayers answered. If you have unanswered prayers, don’t give up today. Go back into the presence of God and continue praying till you receive answers, like Daniel.
