4. Pray Intentionally
The most important way to be intimate with GOD is through prayer. It is necessary to pray intentionally to be intimate with GOD. Exodus 33:7 tells us that it was Moses’ practice to take the Tent of Meeting and set it up some distance from the camp. He didn’t do it only when he felt like, but it was his practice. He had to take efforts and put in a lot of hard work to do this. He did this intentionally and willingly; so GOD used to come down and meet him every time.
We shouldn’t just pray when we feel like praying, or only when we have an urge to pray; but do it intentionally. This world teaches us that romance has to be spontaneous and cannot be planned or organized but this is not always true. Many a times in my marriage, even if my emotions are not aligned with that which my heart wants to do, I have to tell my heart to give my wife more time, respect and attention than what I have been giving; I have to be intentional about showing my love to my wife. In the same way, besides the times that you pray when you feel like; you need to intentionally take out time to prayer regularly.
You should intentionally sit in the LORD’s presence and pour out your heart before HIM. The way you go about this may differ from person to person; whether you keep in mind and do it, or add it to your calendars, or move your schedule to take time out for prayer is up to you as long as you intentionally taking time out for prayer. Don’t wait for tomorrow or for some more free time to come up to start; life only keeps getting busy; start it today. Pray intentionally like Moses did; make it your practice.
Take some time out and inspect your practices, routine and habits and find those places where you can insert your prayer life. Become intentional about your love and commitment towards GOD by giving HIM your time, your heart and your everything.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
