Daniel 9:5,6,20 NLT
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
We have refused to listen to your servants the prophets, who spoke on your authority to our kings and princes and ancestors and to all the people of the land.
I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the LORD my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain.

Daniel’s dependency on prayer and expression of trust in God’s promises gained him favour with God and the people around him.
In the scripture portions for today, we see Daniel’s consistency in pursuing God, even as he asks for forgiveness for the sins he has committed and the sins the people of Israel has committed. Sins can sometimes block, hinder or even stop us from receiving answers to our prayer.
Instead of ignoring our sin, God has made provision for us to go to Him and receive mercy whenever we are in need of forgiveness. The Bible says that if we confess our sin, God is just, and faithful enough to forgive us our sins.
When we bring out sins before God and find healing and forgiveness for them, it brings in a bridge between heaven and earth, thus allowing the answers to our prayers to come.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
