Treat Him Like Dirt
Nehemiah 1:7-9 MSG
We’ve treated you like dirt: We haven’t done what you told us, haven’t followed your commands, and haven’t respected the decisions you gave to Moses your servant. All the same, remember the warning you posted to your servant Moses: ‘If you betray me, I’ll scatter you to the four winds, but if you come back to me and do what I tell you, I’ll gather up all these scattered peoples from wherever they ended up and put them back in the place I chose to mark with my Name.

This is a prayer of repentance.
When Nehemiah is repenting, the whole country of Judah has already been scattered across because of their disobedience and lack of commitment.
God, in response to some of these prayers, is in the process of restoring them back to the place where He said “in the place I chose to mark with My Name”.
Repentance brings them back from being scattered as God restores them.
God put the punishment for our sins, on Jesus. There is no way we have to face the reward for our sins, which is death, because that death has been laid on Jesus.
However, the natural consequences of our sins we will still continue to experience on this earth.
God isn’t somebody who will disconnect us from the consequence of our sin because we asked for forgiveness, but He will help you come out of the consequence.
Example: People fall ill because of sin, debts can be caused because of some bad mistake or decision we made or sins we committed.
Let’s inspect our hearts to see how much we value God today, how much we respect His Word today, how much we really worry about being able to follow His Word. We have to live in a place where we value the Word of God, the voice of God, the people that God has put over our lives, the church God has placed us in, and the opportunities that God uses to speak into our lives. When we value that, we see the favor of God in our lives. If we’ve been treating God like dirt, let’s take this opportunity to repent, to change and take a complete turn around from our wicked ways, and turn to God.
