Victory Over Fear
2 Chronicles 20:17 NLT
But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

Series: Overwhelming Victory
In these 21 days we have been studying various battles in the Bible. Today we are going to learn about the final battle.
The key verse through the season was Romans 8:37. Let’s have a look at what God wants us to know through the last battle.
2 Chronicles 20:1: The armies of Moabites, Ammonites and some of the Meunites declared war on Jehoshaphat.
We see the same pattern where the messengers came with a terrifying news.
Jehoshaphat was terrified and asked God for guidance. He ordered everybody in Judah to fast.
Ideally, we would like people to be in the best of their strength/spirits not fasting when they face battles.
We would feed them well and strengthen them so that they can fight the battle.
But, Jehoshaphat was dependent on God and not strength received from food. So people from all over the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord’s help.
Then Jehoshaphat stood at the temple of the Lord and prayed to God, “Help us, rescue us; hear our cries. We know that they are not more powerful than You are and we are trusting in Your strength and ability.”
Victory comes through worship and the word of the Lord came through a worshipper in the house.
The battles we are really scared of, becomes God’s battle. He wants us to overcome and march out into battle in faith by expressing it in actions. God wants us in the battle field to see if we have conquered our fear. He is interested to see our faith in display and not strength.
Jehoshaphat and his army didn’t have enough strength as they were fasting and praying. Tthey had small army compared to huge army of the enemy, but they still had to take positions in battle to prove to God they were not afraid of enemy.
What are your enemies you are facing today? Is it enemies of relationships, finances, self esteem?
Will you fight the battle against fear?
Prayer: Lord Jesus we receive freedom from fear, debt, addiction from whatever we are going through. We declare in the name of Jesus that they will experience total freedom from fear, disbelief, discouragement to not to take positions in the battle. Give us the courage to get out of our comfort zones and to face the enemy head-on because we know that You are going to fight the real battle, our battle is only with fear and we overcome that today in the name of Jesus. Amen!
