Numbers 31:2 NLT
On behalf of the people of Israel, take revenge on the Midianites for leading them into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors.

The enemy knows our weaknesses. He knows how to trap us and stop us from receiving our favour from God. One of the ways he intends to do it is by making us live a life of idolatry. In today’s podcast Pastor Priji will teach us how to gain “Victory over Idolatry”
Israel was a nation that was strong and powerful because of the favour that God placed upon them. Therefore, no nation was too powerful to stand before them. They walked in power and miracles day after day because God was with them.
On one occasion, the enemy plans a trap for them so they could be drawn out of their protection and favour so that the former can overpower them.
One of the way Israel’s enemy (Midianites) planned evil against them was by luring them into idolatry. Initially the Isrealite men were suduced by the Midianite women into sexual sins and through that most men of Isreal began to submit to idolatry. A time came so dreadful that most men of Israel fell for the sin of idolatry.
Numbers 31:2 is written in context to this incident. Moses tells the people to wage war against the Midianites on behalf of the people of Israel for leading them into idolatry.
Today, we need to identify the idols that are controlling us from having an overwhelming victory. The idol necessarily doesn’t have to be an object that religious people bow down before. It could be a person, a habit, etc.
Let idolatry not stop you from the blessings that has to come on your way, the favours that are yours. As Moses with the tribe’s of Isreal marched to the field of the enemy to have victory over the power of idolatry. We have grace that is given by Jesus Christ to win over every power of idolatry.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
