Victory Over Rejection
Judges 11:2 NLT
Gilead’s wife also had several sons, and when these half brothers grew up, they chased Jephthah off the land. “You will not get any of our father’s inheritance,” they said, “for you are the son of a prostitute.”

Series: Overwhelming Victory
Jephthah was a great warrior and the son of Gilead. However, his mother was a prostitute and was not the wife of Gilead. For this reason, Jephthah was pushed out of the land by his half-brothers. His brothers did not want to share any of their resources or possessions with him and so Jephthah was rejected by his own family.
When the Ammonites began their war against Israel, Jephthah’s brothers had no option but to go to Jephthah and ask for his help. The same people who rejected Jephthah were now asking him to be their leader. That’s the beautiful story of how God can turn around our rejection.
In Judges 11:29-33, the Bible says when Jephthah was filled in the Holy Spirit, he went about gaining victory over all the enemies of Israel. As he became victorious, the same people who were rejecting him, were now willing to serve him.
The Bible says He prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. If anyone has dishonored or rejected you, don’t try to return it back to them.
Jephthah did not try to take revenge against his brothers even though he could have easily taken his inheritance by force. But he chose not to because he knew that if God decides to promote him, no one can stop him.
When God decides to take you higher, nobody can affect it. The same God who raised Jephthah will raise you up. No matter what challenges and pain you are going through, God will lift you up this season.
God honored a rejected person like Jephthah under the Old Testament. He can do greater things in the New Testament where we are dependent upon the Holy Spirit and have new identities upon us and are accepted, loved and cherished by Him.
Whatever area you face rejection in, by the Spirit of the Lord, we declare victory over all those rejections.
May the love of God overflow in your hearts and cover any wounds and scars of the past and may you experience His peace, grace and joy.
