We have been studying the battles of the Old Testament and trying to understand what is it that was the key in them experiencing victory in their battles and wars, if we can imitate their principles, we can be victorious like them too.
Yesterday we were talking about time, today’s topic is quite similar since it is built over times. And thats how we make traditions, it gets developed over time. Traditions make us depend on ourselves and we think that we are our own saviour! We feel that we have the solution and answer to all life’s challenges.
In Judges 3, we read the story about Othniel. Till now God has always spoken to a tribe, country or the army that God would commission to fight the battle. But here we see God using one man! This was the first time God used this strategy.
Can you imagine God saying, I don’t need an army, i just need one man! Othniel was the first of all the Judges. When we surrender to God, there is no extent to how much he can release new beginnings into our lives.
If we need to receive these new things that God wants to release into our lives, we need to close doors and say good bye to the old things, the old circumstances and the old way of doing things, we need to get rid of the routines to make room for what God has prepared in store for us.
Traditions are coming to God today and expecting him to do the same thing that he did yesterday. Share on XOur prayer for you today is that God will release many firsts and new beginnings in your life this week.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
