Scavenging Dogs at Night
Listen
Transcript:
We are so privileged to be living in a time of grace. We are so blessed that we have Jesus as our protector. In spite of all the dramatic ways in which God rescued the people in the Old Testament, they still didn’t have the power, grace and personal presence of God the way we have. Sometimes it may be normal for us to experience attack’s of the enemy and yet what we need to remember is that our response to attack shouldn’t be fear but it should be saturated in faith that is build and founded in the word of God. In Psalm 59:14-15 it says, “My enemies come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets. They scavenge for food but go to sleep unsatisfied.’’
This context talks about enemies that are released in the middle of the night. Enemies that come trying scavenge, steal, scare and hurt God’s people and I believe that it is normal for the enemy to try and operate in night season’s. It could be a season an entire time frame for you when you are in the dark and have no direction and that can be the time the enemy can attack you. Whenever you feel like you are all alone and you don’t really have much help in this season or you don’t have the details of the thing’s you need to do and to avoid, you are technically in a dark season. In those seasons, you need to be extra careful and extra vigilant to not allow any fear to come into your heart. That is why Jesus taught us not to worry or be anxious.
The more we respond with faith in a dark or night season, the more we will be able to experience victory over the enemies that are released out into the night. Share on XSometimes, it may be a physical night season like during the night you may experience dreams and nightmares, this the time when Gods people are sleeping and are not alert. This is the time when the enemy can attack, steal or sow weeds into their heart and soul which will destroy them and sometimes we might wake up with a dream in the morning and then there is a particular response that you may have. The rest of the day you are behaving completely against and opposite to what God what’s you to behave. You might be wondering, where did this come from?? How is it that the entire day I have such a bad mood and wrong emotion? That’s when you need to go back and ask yourself, what did I dream last night? What happened when I slept?
The enemies come out at night and are snarling like vicious dogs and they prowl the streets. They are looking for people or victims they can feast upon. They are trying to scavenge for food. This is what you and I have to intentionally do before we go to sleep. It could be a physical sleep or a night season where you feel that you are in the dark. You need to make sure you don’t leave any food behind for these dogs. You need to make sure the doors are tightly shut. You need to make sure your devotion and love of God has written all over your life that the enemy doesn’t have any access to your home, heart and thoughts. Especially before you got or sleep, can you make an intentional effort to give everything you have into God’s hand?
Fear and lack of trust in God is food for the enemy to scavenge upon. See the enemy is going to come whether you like it or not but the question is are we tolerating this enemy or are we starving him. Are we making sure he doesn’t enter our lives, homes, hearts by making sure that there is nothing left to take part in our lives? It is very necessary that we be careful and alert with our lives and lifestyle.
When we do this they go to sleep unsatisfied because there is nothing. The enemy doesn’t have anything in store that the enemy can touch and bank upon. Knowing this fact is a strong foundation and a big help for a child of God to overcome attacks that come in the middle of the night.
My prayer is that in this season is that you will grow in your understanding of what Jesus is done for you. You will grow in your understanding of your protection. You will grow in your understanding of knowing the very physical presence of God that is with you in every season of life and at the same time you will exercise your spiritual intelligence and you wouldn’t leave the food for these scavenging dogs and the enemy when he comes he will go to sleep unsatisfied. The enemy will not enjoy off of your table. There shall be no stealing, killing and destroying for your life. That’s the blessing that I want to leave you with today. Make sure to go back and meditate on this scripture and may the Lord cause your revelations to flourish and blossom and multiply in this season. Have a blessed and beautiful day ahead with Jesus.
