Remain in Filth
Listen
Good Morning & Greetings in Jesus Name. We are going to receive a fresh deposit from God’s Presence into our hearts, into our life. You know the one thing about drawing closer to God is that it has a naturally purifying effect on the one that is drawing near. If we are willing and if we surrender, there is absolutely nothing that the Lord will not turn around and change in our lives.
In the book of Ezekiel 24:13, The Lord is prophetically speaking to the nation of Israel and the nation of Judah. God says your impurity is your lewdness and the corruption of your idolatry. This is what I did, I tried to cleanse you but you refused so now you will remain in your filth until my fury against you as been satisfied. The Lord didn’t like the impurity and the corruption in the nation. We think that God is a forgiving God and God will always put up with my corruption. The Lord is forgiving us because there was a price that was paid on the cross by Jesus to take away our sin, take away our lewdness, and take away our corruption and yet our impurity is a serious offence in the eyes of God. Our unholiness, our lips that lie our hands that steal and our heart that lust all of these are great offences to the presence of God.
When the impurities are exposed when the idolatry is revealed, God immediately began to put things into place, puts prophets into place, puts circumstances into place to cleanse us, and tries to disconnect us from our impurity. To try to completely define us just like gold as to be put into the fire, to be refined and made new. The Lord immediately allows certain things, certain declarations, certain prophecies, certain scriptures to come away so that we can be convicted. We can change and yet the Bible says, I tried to cleanse you but you refused. See as much as God will try to cleanse us, as much as He will try to refine us. It is for us to receive or reject that refinement. It is for us to take that in and say ‘I want to be refined, I want to be holy, I want to be cleansed, I want to be holy, I want to be pure. I want to just be made new’. I can say that or I can just go about doing what I want to or how I want to live or- how I want to say things and just because this is more convenient and this is easier. I can go about with my own way of life.
Now, these are the two responses. This morning either we refuse, either we reject, either we make just make our heart hard and become arrogant or we can turn back to God and say Lord here I am, I am your servant, cleanse me make me holy, make me pure, make me new. Ezekiel says your impurity is your lewdness and the corruption is your idolatry. But I tried to cleanse you, says God through Ezekiel, but you refused because you didn’t relate or submit. So now you will remain in your filth. Until my fury against you has been satisfied. It says that because you refused because you didn’t allow me to cleanse you. Now you will remain in your filth.
You cannot overcome this on your own. You cannot overcome this with your willpower. You cannot overcome this with your mental strength. You cannot overcome this because you have great friends who give good counselling and great resources that you read up on the line. No, the fire from the throne room needs to be able to cleanse you. If you do not submit to the fire from the throne room nothing can really help us. Because you refuse, now you will remain in your filth. Now, may that not be said about any one of us. All of us that are just united in receiving this word, this morning can we ask the Lord, Lord here we are. We will not refuse, we will not reject, we will not be arrogant, we will not be proud you know, we will not resist your work.
Let us come to the Lord and submit ourselves and make a decision to cleanse ourselves from the impurities and corruption.
