1 Kings 11:6
In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the Lord’s sight; he refused to follow the Lord completely, as his father, David, had done.
Series: Solomon’s Early Mistakes
Every moment and hour that we are alive, it should bring glory, adoration and worship to the name of Jesus and this is why we were created for. But one thing that keeps us from doing this is the sin of worshipping other things in our life. We have been studying the same from King Solomon’s life.
He began worshipping idols in his old age, he compromised in his love by desiring wrong things, insisted to have his own way and he let his guards down and we further see in 1 Kings 11:6 which says he refused to follow the Lord completely.
Though King David made many mistakes in his life, but when prophets came to correct him, he was willing to submit, repent and change, but on the other hand King Solomon refused to follow the Lord.
This is the danger with all the young people in our day. Because we have seen so much of abuse of leadership we no longer want to submit to anybody if someone says that we are wrong.
But in your personal life, can you do something different? Can you go to your leader/spiritual father or even your parents and ask them to correct you and teach you?
When you are willing to let people correct you, you will be able to follow the Lord all the days of your life and then you will have an ending like King David did. But since King Solomon’s refused to submit, his ending was worse than his beginning.
Hope that you will have a beautiful ending as you submit to the corrections that God will bring your way.
God bless you!
