The Very Power
Listen
Good morning & Greetings in Jesus name! Welcome to this beautiful new day! This new morning and a new experience we have in our relationship with Jesus. Every time we pray or read a word or listen to a podcast or church sermon or even someone brings us an encouraging word, It is necessary that we respond back with a heart, with surrender, with thanksgiving, with gratefulness truly shows how much we value that encounter or revelation because it is only to the measure that we value the revelation that God gives us, will that revelation be actually useful for us, or practically put into use in our daily lives.
1 Corinthians 1:18, The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
Two groups of people perceive the same message in a different way. The first group says it’s foolish whereas the second group says it is the wisest thing. It is necessary that we value who God is and what God is speaking and showing to us because only till the measure that we value that revelation will that revelation now begin to work in our lives.
It says the first people that actually believe that the cross is foolish and it logically didn’t make sense, don’t do any changes in their heart, this group of people are headed for destruction. Not only unbelievers, even Christians, some of us that are part of good Bible-believing churches where Jesus and the cross are preached and yet we come back without responding or valuing the revelation coming to us, even for those people, because we did not value that revelation, but it is also going to be of no use, we are continuing to going to live in destructive ways, hurt people, hurt ourselves, live in a way that will lead to eternal damnation.
Then there is another group of people saying that they are being saved which means the process is not complete, the process is still going on, the work is still in progress, they know that they have their own challenges, weaknesses, that is why they are constantly depending on the Cross for the power that it carries. It says for this group of people, for this very same Cross which is now a distraction to the other is now an opportunity for these guys to experience life, to experience forgiveness for them to be redeemed and experience the very power of God.
The Cross is not just something that will help you access the forgiveness of God, the Cross also helps to access the very raw power of God, which means that you can be a Christian that says God has forgiven me because of what Jesus has don’t for me on the Cross, or you can say God has not just given me forgiveness, he has now given me the power to live free, holy and a way that pleases and bring glory to his name, that is the power of God, that power is a deposit in the way that you value the revelation, isn’t it true that Jesus died for everybody, but the fact of the matter is that not everybody will treat that death in the same way, according to the way they treat that message, according to how they respond to that message, they will now be blessed because of that message or they will be damned because of the same message.
The Cross gives us access to the raw power of God. Share on XSo it is necessary we bring our hearts before the Lord and say, Lord, help me to respond correctly, help me to value what you speak to me, help me to value the Cross, help me to value what Jesus did for me, give me an understanding and revelation of who you are and help me to respond correctly to that revelation, I can’t do it on my own.
Jesus told Peter, “Peter, flesh and blood did not do this to you, it was my father in heaven”, this was not human wisdom or intellectual information that you calculated, it was my father in heaven. We need to ask for me.
Holy Spirit, give me a new revelation of the Cross of Jesus Christ, of my salvation, of the very power of God, Wisdom of God, the perspectives of God, I don’t want to be limited to human ways and thinking, I want to know how God thinks, and feels about my life, I yield myself to you. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen!
