Counting on Egypt
Isaiah 20:6 NLT
“They will say, ‘If this can happen to Egypt, what chance do we have? We were counting on Egypt to protect us from the king of Assyria.'”

Sometimes we tend to take God for granted. We enjoy His provisions and the people He uses in our lives so much that our trust gets diverted from God and onto our circumstances.
In Isaiah 20:6 God is speaking to the country of Judah and He says if you are counting on Egypt (your office, or a person or your ministry), to take care of you and not God, it will give up and make mistakes that you will regret.
God may use people to bless you and protect you but if you take your eyes away from God and focus on people, you are giving God competition and He does not like competition. God told Isaiah – a renowned prophet – to walk around naked and barefoot to demonstrate the poverty and destruction that Egypt is going to go through. This was to let the people know that Egypt (or the thing that you depend on, worship and look up to) will be bankrupt if it competes with God so that you will realize this is what happens to those who rely on anything other than God.
We all need a revival of trust. When we begin our walk with God, we always trust Him. As time goes by, we come to a place where we rely on our securities and situations, instead of looking to God. We need to put our trust in the King of Kings.
Lift your heart up to God and pray: Lord, You are the only One I need. You may use people to provide for me but You are my ultimate provision; You may use my job to give me security but You are my ultimate security; You are my ultimate protector. I declare today that my heart will experience a revival of trust starting today, in Jesus name, amen!
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
