Series: Receiving the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit is the Lord of Revival. We cannot experience Revival except we depend on the Holy Spirit. He is the one who makes Revival a possibility and a reality in our generation and our lifetime. I am excited to be part of what God wants to do in our churches, cities and nations!

We yield to the Holy Spirit by letting him fill us to overflowing. Just a breath from Jesus was enough to release an impartation upon the disciples. The Apostles laid hands on people and preached about Jesus and in both instance people received the Holy Spirit.

In yesterday’s podcast we completed by focusing on the fact that the Holy Spirit comes and fills us when we preach about Jesus! The reason thats important is because the job description of the Holy Spirit is precisely the same, His job is to make sure that people know Jesus! He testifies about the presence, the person and the power of Jesus!

John 15:26 – “But I will send you the Advocate – the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about Me.”

The Holy Spirit comes when we exalt Jesus, when we glorify Jesus, when we make him our Lord, when we make him our King, thats when the Father pours out his spirit upon us. We see the same in Acts 10:44. When Peter was preaching about Jesus, the Holy Spirit fell upon everybody that was listening to Peter.

And when he comes, what he does is to testify to the fact that everything we were talking about Jesus is true.For an example, if I exalt the fact that Jesus is a healer, when the Holy Spirit is poured out He testifies to the fact that Jesus is a healer by manifesting the healing power of Jesus!

Whenever we need the manifest presence of God to work in our lives, we could just start exalting the presence of Jesus! And we can be assured that the Holy Spirit will make God’s power manifest in such a measure that our need and areas of wait will be taken care of.

Holy Spirit is also our Advocate. He speaks to us on behalf of God. And when we ministers to other people, the Holy Spirit ministers to them on our behalf. We can stop fighting for our battles and stop struggling and let him fight the battle for you!

He is also the Spirit of truth. Which implies we need to get rid of everything that is not true, to be able to welcome him in our lives. Any wrong theology, any untrue habits, any contradictions in our life, we need to be able to let go. I had this habit of lying that I struggled for a long time. Once I was baptised with the Holy Spirit, I was completely free.

When the Holy Spirit comes inside of you there will be absolutely nothing that could remain hidden and or in the wrong. The Holy Spirit is in the business of revealing more and more of Jesus to you.
