Because of Jesus You and I have authority and voice, let it be issues, office, people, political issues or environmental issues. We have a voice that can transform the world around us!

The ‘Him’ in Colossians 1:16 is Jesus Christ. The verse says, it is through ‘Jesus Christ’ the Father created everything in heaven and on earth. Why? because, He is the Word of God and everything was created by the ‘Word’.

The verse goes on to say – the seen and the unseen things: there are things in the physical universe and there are things in the spiritual world. There are things we can see and understand through science and experience and there are things in the unseen realm like, angels, demons. Each of these seen and unseen things are created by Jesus.

The latter part of the verse says – including spiritual powers, lords, rulers, and authorities: these are categories of things created in the unseen things. There are spiritual powers that govern the economy of a nation. There are spiritual powers that govern the health of a nation, the mortality rate, kind of sin that is prevalent in a particular age group. There are spiritual powers governing according to the area and the results vary. The talks about ‘lords’, they are those who rule over these spiritual powers.

We have powers, lords, rulers and authorities in the seen realm too. The word says it is created by and through Jesus.

The verse ends stating – God created the whole universe through him and for him: this is a revelation we need to understand to establish Heaven’s kingdom here on earth. Everything was created through Him and for Him.

When we realise that God has put a person as a Prime Minister/President of the nation and the reason God has put him there is for Him, for His glory, can you imagine how our prayers will change? Can you imagine how our respect and honour of our leaders will change? Can you imagine how we’ll treat the enemy?

The Bible says, each and everything that was created by God, through Jesus and for Him. Every single thing that was created has to bring pleasure, worship and glory to God. You and I as the body of Jesus can stand and declare over the seen and unseen world – “May everything that you do, let it bring glory to the name of Jesus!” This is the purpose with which you were created. The devil may try to steal, kill and destroy. But, there was an instance in the Bible about the blind man which turned out to be for the glory of God.

Everything the enemy is doing to hurt, God knows how to turn it around for His glory. Let’s pray for the world around us both seen and unseen. Command those rulers, authorites, spiritual powers, and those lords to function in obedience to the plan and purposes of God for your life and you will see how things begin to align itself for every area of your life.

I pray that you would have the audacity to pray this not just for yourself, not just for your church, not just for the people you know, but for your entire city and your nation! And we will see our nations burn with the flame of revival in the days to come.
