Wall of Fire Around
Zechariah 2:1-5 MSG
“I looked up and was surprised to see a man holding a tape measure in his hand. I said, “What are you up to?” “I’m on my way,” he said, “to survey Jerusalem, to measure its width and length.” Just then the Messenger-Angel on his way out met another angel coming in and said, “Run! Tell the Surveyor, ‘Jerusalem will burst its walls — bursting with people, bursting with animals. And I’ll be right there with her’ — GOD ’s Decree — ‘a wall of fire around unwalled Jerusalem and a radiant presence within.’””

In this verse, its talking about what God is going to do in Jerusalem among the Jews when God restores His kingdom.
In the new testament the church is the Jerusalem. And it says that the walls of the church will break out because it will be full of people and God will be right there with the church.
In Acts chapter 2, when the Holy Spirit was poured out, there was a wall of fire that surrounded the people because of which they spoke boldly and preached the gospel. This is what we can claim for our church.
Wherever you might go to church today believe that the Holy Spirit will breathe His fire and His presence into your church, fellowship or your group.
The verse continues to say that this church will not have any walls but only bridges. Walls are what separates us from people. We have to welcome everyone into our church even animals (people who might dress or behave like animals), let everyone come in because in the presence of God they will change.
We don’t need walls because God’s fire and His presence will protect us.
Let us pour ourselves deep into the service of our community so that they will experience this love of Jesus.
When Jesus was born, God called Him Emmanuel which means God with us and it is His promise that He will be right there with the church.
Let’s believe that we will experience this manifested presence of God in our lives today.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
