Matthew 13:44 (LEB)

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, that a man found and concealed, and in his joy he goes and sells everything that he has and buys that field.”

Transcript:

Good morning and greetings in Jesus’ name. The Bible says that Jesus, he endured the cross for the joy that was set before him. He saw into eternity because of which he had the grace to endure sufferings, the pain, the cross that was his present condition. When we have a revelation of what is coming up, what is our inheritance, what is our blessing, what is our reward, it will become easy for us to sacrifice in our present day to day life, and we will live a life that is completely laid down and surrendered.

In Mathew 13:44, Jesus is comparing a sacrificial exchange of a man, who found a treasure. He got a revelation into what is hidden in this piece of land. And when he had that revelation, he didn’t take that revelation for granted, he didn’t start praying that someday God would help him get that land, instead this is what he did. He concealed the treasure, he didn’t tell anybody about it and went with joy and sold everything that he had and bought that field. All because he had a revelation into what that field was capable of giving him. Now all of that was in the future but he was ready to sacrifice his present comfort, convenience, happiness and blessings, in order to pursue the future reward, the joy that was set before him. Think about those desires that have been birthed and breathed by the Holy Spirit into our lives, but we have given up on, because they look too impossible to achieve. Today, the Lord is saying, “Bring them out”. It is time to achieve it! Sometimes, it is going to come at a cost, you may have to lay down everything else in order to achieve it, because that is how the kingdom of God works, that is how the Kingdom of God is possessed; the violent take it by force. They don’t just lay down and hope that eventually everything will work out correctly in God’s time; they are the violent that take things by force.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
