Greeting in Jesus name!
Let our eyes be fixed on Jesus and let us understand God more deeply.

In the New Testament, Herod respected John and he protected him and even he loved to listen to him. Herod loved and knew John as a holy man of God and honoured him and yet he was disturbed every time he spoke to John. It extended in which Herod ends up murdering John.

Many of our relationships with our pastors, prophets, spiritual leaders and parents tend to be similar. We love, honour, care and respect them but certain areas make them uncomfortable. They tell us certain things that we are not allowed to do, but with our maturity, we tend to do it and do not let them enter certain areas of our life. We want to have a surface relationship with our leaders.

If Herod submitted in the leadership of John, Herod’s life would have been a blessing. But he had a double standard in his relationship with John that is loving and protecting John and not letting him in certain aspects of his life. He ended his relationship with John and is the reason for John’s murder. The blood of a prophet was in the hands of King Herod.

This could be your story with yourself when you do not completely surrender to your leader. The attitude of the double standard will destroy every aspect that brings joy into your life.

When we do not completely surrender to our spiritual leaders and let certain aspects remain that aspect grows into the greatest sin of your life. Share on X

Let us evaluate our heart and submit with the passion we carry to our leaders and let us receive and not destroy our relationships due to our discomfort.
