Good Morning and Greetings in Jesus’ Name!
Welcome to another beautiful day with Jesus. Welcome to a whole life of relationship, obedience, constant change and constant upgrading ourselves into his image. We ought to become like Jesus. We ought to become as submissive, as obedient, as aligned to our father’s will like Jesus was. One of the biggest mistakes we can make in life is to rebel against what God has already revealed to us. God is not going to count us accountable for things we didn’t know. But the ones that we are aware of, the ones that he has already revealed to us, how do we respond to those? Do we rebel or do we submit?
Isaiah 1:5 – “Why do you keep on rebelling? Do you want to be punished even more? Israel, your head is already covered with wounds, and your heart and mind are sick.”
This was God who was speaking through a prophet to the nation that was in constant rebellion against the ways and the voice of God. Multiple times, God asks Israel, why do you keep rebelling. This would mean, they were aware that their actions, their words, their transactions were in direct rebellion to what God had revealed to them but, still they continued to do that again. When they were rebelling they might have thought that they were doing the right thing. But God is saying No! What you are actually doing is hurting you. The verse says, from the head to the foot there was not a single healthy spot and on top of that, none of these bruises was covered, cleansed or bandaged and no medicine was applied on any part of this person that was rebelling in this nation. That was rebelling against the ways of God.
your own life, body, marriage, career…. in fact, you are destroying your own prosperity when you live in rebellion. The Lord says, the sad thing is that inspite of all these bruises there is no bandaging or cleansing, there is no medicine that has been applied on your body. The opposite of rebellion is submission, obedience and it is to come in alignment to God’s will for our life. When we do that, there is a sense of healing that is released in every aspect of our life.
Our submission, obedience and alignment to God’s voice brings healing and covering, into those areas of our life, which was bruised. For the moment, it may be painful when somebody is applying medicine on an open wound and naturally your first response sometimes can be to run away from it and to not go through that extensive pain, to not submit, to not be covered, to not be cleansed and to not be applied medicine upon. And yet, on the long run no matter how much it hurts temporarily, we will become healthy and restored. Our image will become like who God had created us to be. We will begin to resemble our God on this earth. And, that is our ultimate goal! that we become like Jesus.
