The Foolish Vow
Listen
Transcript:
The statements we make and the words we say play a significant role in our spiritual lives.
As we journey through life, intentionally or unintentionally we make random and foolish vows to the Lord.
In the old testament, we read that sin offerings were made to the Lord and did you know that one of them were made for foolish vows?
A foolish vow is vow that does not reflect the heart and the mind of God. Its words that come out from our mouth that does not echo the desire of God.
While making a foolish vow we may have a good purpose and intention or really quite the opposite (towards something or someone) but when we realize our foolishness the word says we must admit to our guilt.
The Lord pays careful attention to every word we speak, my friend.
Here’s something that we can do! Let’s analyse every word, vow and statement we have made or said in the last 24 hours and let’s come into a place of personal repentance with the Lord.
Once again, let me remind you that your sin and your guilt has been taken away by the precious blood of Jesus but in order to turn around the consequences, let’s change our patterns of talking and thinking and begin to confess the right opposite of what we’ve spoken.
If you’ve said something to hurt someone begin to confess God’s goodness over them. If you’ve said something negative confess God’s blessings.
Hope this word ministers to your heart and helps you grow in godly wisdom in every word and vow you make henceforth.
God bless you!
