Weep in Secret

by | Podcast

Jeremiah 13:17 (NASB)
But if you do not listen to it, My soul will weep in secret for such pride; And my eyes will shed And stream down tears, Because the flock of the Lord has been taken captive.

Today’s message teaches that intimacy with God changes the way we respond to people’s sin, pride, and disobedience. Jeremiah did not simply point out the failures of God’s people; his soul wept for them in secret because their captivity and disobedience broke the heart of God. We are challenged not to respond to pride with more pride, harshness, gossip, or public criticism, but with humility, intercession, and genuine compassion. Before correcting or speaking prophetically into someone’s life, we should first allow their condition to affect our own hearts. When we learn to grieve over what grieves God, we become better equipped to represent His heart, carry His voice, and speak words that bring restoration and edification.
