Beloved Sister
Listen
Transcript:
Proverbs 7:4 says you need to love wisdom like a sister and make it a beloved and celebrated member of your family. Brothers can sometimes be harsh, but wisdom is like a sister and so treat her with gentleness, provide her with everything she needs and give her the place of respect in the house.
In the Old Testament, the twelve brothers of Dinah in Jacob’s house were upset because somebody disrespected their sister. They in fact disobeyed their father Jacob and went all out to destroy an entire city because one man defiled their sister. They loved her so much that they did not even mind being cruel, hurtful, and hateful to take vengeance because of their love for their sister.
May you read the word of God and pray and become so intentional to receive wisdom in your house the way that the twelve brothers of Dinah would fight for her honour in that house.
We need to have a constant quest to get information, insight, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Will you take your quest for wisdom very seriously? When you read the word or listen to the podcast or sermon, may you receive with respect the wisdom that is coming your way. If you are going to take the wisdom and the insight for granted, it is just a matter of time before you lose access to that wisdom and you will reach a place where you may be getting information but that information will not help or transform you.
May you rejoice when you get a new insight or you experience new wisdom. If you express your honour and devotion to wisdom and insight and also become intentional to do it, then they will multiply in your life as the days go by.
