Social Distancing
Listen
Welcome to this beautiful day! Hoping that the Lord is enabling and equipping us to do what He has called us to do.
There is never a day or season or any occasion in our lives when God does not want us to do his will. He wants us to be constantly attentive to what He is doing and speaking so we can imitate those things and live a lifestyle that will glorify Him every step of the way. In today’s verse, Paul gives a command to the Church and it is not something that we can take lightly but give complete attention and devotion to. There are two types of believers pointed in today’s scripture. Those who live idle lives and are unintentional of what God has called them to do. Paul tells the Church that they should stay away from such people else they become like them.
We live in a time when there is a virus raging and there are certain people that will tell us to stay away from others but it is not because we don’t have to love them but because it can be contagious when close and Paul is trying to tell the church this. Maintain social distancing from these so-called Christian who live idle lives. Which shows that every believer needs to be hardworking. We need to be men and women willing to put in extra strength and sweat to be hard intentional workers. We should surround ourselves with Godly men and women who are intentional about their lives and are visionaries who are thinking for years ahead. Those who are not just satisfied with everyday routine but every aspect of their life is constantly moving forward.
The second category is those who do not follow their leaders and the tradition of the Church. What should be our response to them? In this case, we are not talking of unbelievers, to unbelievers we preach the gospel to them. Apostle Paul advises staying away from those who are believers and are unwilling to align and rebel against the teaching of their spiritual leaders. Just as Idleness can be transferred by association so can dishonour and disobedience also is transferred by association.
There is never a day or season in our lives where God does not want us to do His will. Share on XPrayer: Lord we want to obey your word. We do not know the ups and downs that we will face because we obey but we still desire to do so. We ask that you Give us the grace to obey. Amen
